SHORT BIOGRAPHY:

My name is Daniele Franceschini, born in 1988 in Trento, Italy. My passion for video games and computers started very early—basically as soon as my hands were able to hold a joystick. I grew up playing on my parents’ Nintendo Entertainment System and Atari 7800, two iconic consoles from the mid‑80s.

I first approached the world of PCs at the age of 8, using an Intel 386 in my father’s office, and later moved on to my first personal computer powered by a Pentium 1. At 14, I discovered the GameMaker engine, which opened the door to game development. I experimented extensively and created several 2D mini‑games. It was a turning point: I became completely fascinated by game creation.

In 2006 I started developing Dany’s Virtual Drum, later renamed DvDrum, my sandbox drum simulator series. With the release of DvDrum 2, as freeware, the project unexpectedly reached millions of downloads worldwide, creating a real community around it and giving me enormous satisfaction.

In 2011 I attended an Autodesk 3D design course, where I studied various aspects of 3D graphics. This experience led me to my first developer job in 2012 at Ready Solutions, a company creating desktop and web applications with SQL databases to support mechanical CAD workflows. I worked there for two years.

Meanwhile, in 2012, I began studying and exploring the Unity Engine (Unity 4), diving into real‑time 3D graphics.

Between 2012 and 2016 I studied in an Information Technology institute, where I developed several mini‑games in solo using Microsoft Visual Studio with various libraries. My graduation project was an online multiplayer racing game developed with Unity.

In 2013 I released the first beta of DvDrum 3 and several Android mobile apps on the Play Store such as DvDrum Touch, DvPiano Touch, Avoiding Flames, and others, experimenting with mobile development through GameMaker Studio.

In 2015 I released the early access version of DvDrum: Ultimate Drum Simulator (DvDrum 4) on Steam, developed with GameMaker Studio. After hundreds of weekly updates, it reached full release in 2017 and it is still actively updated today.

From 2017 onward, my main focus shifted to studying and developing with Unity Engine.

In the same year, I attended the Digital Bros Game Academy in Milan, where I learned teamwork, professional production workflows, and the inner mechanisms of a game studio.

During this period, I also began participating in Game Jams to improve my skills, collaborate with new people, and face new challenges.

My passion pushed me to explore Unreal Engine and study artistsworkflows in Blender.

In 2018 I worked at Gamera Interactive, contributing to gameplay, AI, combat systems, level design, and more on the action RPG Alaloth: Champions of The Four Kingdoms, now released on Steam.

In 2019 I joined Digital Mosaik, a virtual reality startup focused on 360° immersive videos. There, I brought my 3D and technical background to develop, as the sole developer, a dozen immersive 3D VR projects for various Oculus devices. I am proud to have led the company’s transition from video production to interactive 3D VR development, which soon became highly appreciated by clients.

In 2022 I joined the game startup Mad Pumpkins as the sole developer of Movierooms, a cinema‑management PC game.

With this project, my team and I participated in the Game Hub acceleration program in Rome (Cinecittà), where I learned the basics of the gaming industry business.
In 2024 I worked at Coderblock, an innovative tech company focused on developing an online real‑time metaverse platform. After joining the team, I improved the overall quality of the platform’s, enhancing graphics and gameplay, and, thanks to my previous VR experience, I began developing several VR training and gamification experiences for Meta Quest 3 devices, helping the company transition toward VR development.
